OUR PASTOR

 

Alexander Clarence Smith was born on April 28, 1976 to the late Alexander Dunbar Smith and Hope Anita Smith in the City of Atlantic City, New Jersey. Born and raised in Atlantic City as a Pentecostal believer, he developed a love and sense of compassion for others. Alexander was baptized in water and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age 10. In 2003 Alexander married LaShonine Smith and they have three children Alexander C. Smith II, Zyla-Rae and Camille.

 

Education and Ministry

After acquiring a high school diploma from Atlantic City High School in 1995, Pastor Smith went to college and graduated from Atlantic Cape Community College in 2001 with an Associates Degree in Social Work. He also obtained his Bachelors degree in Social Work from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 2009. In the year of 2000 Pastor Smith accepted his calling and was ordained a minister under the leadership of Bishop John R. Gandy. In March 2009 we purchased a church building in Atlantic City and started The Way of Holiness Temple which was changed to Community Harvesters Church in 2013. In 2023 CHC opened its second location in Dorothy, New Jersey. Alexander was ordained Pastor by The Universal Life Church in Modesto California, in 2011, and PA of W in 2017. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity from Rockbridge Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri. Pastor Smith is currently a member of A Graceful Association of Pastors Ecumenically (AGAPE) under the leadership of Bishop Charles H. Ellis III. He also is a Police and Firemens Chaplain for The City of Atlantic City.

Licensed Realtor since 2004

Certified social worker since 2009

Started a Community Food Pantry & Community Fruit/Vegetable Garden 2010

Certified Master Gardener 2010  and  Master Composter 2012

Completed the construction of the first Community Garden Greenhouse in the City of Atlantic City 2013

Graduated from the LEAD ACT (Atlantic City Tomorrow) in 2013

Recipient of the Atlantic City Community Relation Award in 2014
